Dear Alumni of The European Graduate School,
After almost 25 years since its inception, The European Graduate Schools is now launching its alumni network. We want to connect our alumni and hereby ask you to help take the spirit of EGS into the world. You are part of the EGS legacy and we want to build on it with you by spreading the philosophy of arts, philosophy and society in the divisions of Arts, Health and Society (AHS) and of Philosophy, Art and Critical Thought (PACT). The Alumni Network comprises both of our divisions.

We are facing a world that is in urgent need of critical understanding in order to overcome any claim of supremacy based on gender, race or nation. We want you to be part of the EGS again.

The purpose of the EGS Alumni Network is twofold: On the one hand, we want to connect EGS alumni so that they may be aware of each other’s existence, exchange ideas, cooperate in research and actions, spread news of symposia and conferences, enable meetings and hang outs wherever you may be travelling to – in short: meet the EGS community and enlarge it with your presence and your dedication to preceiving, thinking and acting. On the other hand, we are also asking for your support of the EGS and will be offering special rates for seminars throughout the year in Saas-Fee, Switzerland, in Valletta, Malta, in Venice, Italy or in Boisbuchet, France. As you all know the EGS was built only on your tuition fees. We want to maintain the tuition rates but also enable scholarships especially for students from countries that do not provide financial aid for education.

As some of you may know, we have already begun to organize gatherings at small EGS Hubs in New York, Singapore and Berlin. The EGS Hubs will provide another opportunity to meet and exchange, to formulate ideas and to conceive projects.

The website will be growing with news and offers based on your suggestions. Sarah Brigid Hannis (public@egs.edu) will be happy to gather them.

Welcome to the EGS Alumni Network.

Hubertus von Amelunxen, President of The European Graduate School
